Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how FIRST AI HOLDINGS LLC ("Tallyman", "we", "us") collects, uses, and shares personal information when you use Tallyman (the "Service"). We aim to collect only what we need to run the Service.
1. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account information: your name, email address, role (school/association, organizer, or judge), and a password (stored in hashed form by our authentication provider).
- Session content: motions, team and speaker names, scores, time penalties, comments, and results you enter or that other judges on your panel enter.
- Invitations: the email addresses you choose to invite to a session.
- Messages: anything you send us through the contact form or by email.
Information collected automatically
- Technical and usage data: basic log information such as IP address, browser type, and timestamps, used to operate and secure the Service.
- Cookies: see our Cookie Policy. We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in and the Service working.
2. How we use information
- To create and manage accounts and authenticate users.
- To operate core features: creating sessions, sending invitations, scoring, harmonizing results, and saving match records.
- To send transactional emails (for example, a welcome message and judge invitations) from info@tallyman.net.
- To secure the Service, prevent abuse, and respond to support requests.
- To comply with legal obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
3. How we share information
We share information with service providers that help us run Tallyman, under agreements that limit their use of it:
- Supabase — hosting, database, and authentication.
- Resend — delivery of transactional email.
Within a debate session, the information you enter (such as scores and comments) is visible to the relevant panel and the session host or chief judge, as needed to operate the round. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or the Service.
4. Data retention
We keep account information for as long as your account is active. Session content and match records are kept so that hosts and judges can review past results; we may delete or anonymize older records over time. You can ask us to delete your account and associated personal information by contacting info@tallyman.net.
5. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect personal information, including encryption in transit and database access rules that restrict who can read or write each record. For example, only invited accounts can submit a ballot for a session. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact info@tallyman.net. We will respond consistent with applicable law.
7. Children and debate participants
Tallyman is intended for use by adults — judges, organizers, and school or association staff. The Service is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly create accounts for children. Debate participants are often students, and their names and scores may be entered as session content by judges or organizers. If you enter information about a participant, you are responsible for having any consent or authority required under the rules of your school, competition, or jurisdiction. If you believe a child has provided us personal information directly, contact us at info@tallyman.net and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.
8. International users
We are based in the United States, and information we process may be stored and handled in the United States or other countries where our providers operate. By using the Service, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in those locations.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
10. Contact
